Gorilla Capital invests in KotiCharge
Gorilla Capital Fund III has made its 65th investment in KotiCharge, a smart EV charging platform for housing associations and company car fleets.
Introducing KotiCharge
As more people drive electric cars, charging is becoming part of everyday life in housing associations and workplaces. For a housing association board, it raises practical questions: who pays for which electricity, how costs are shared fairly between residents, and how to keep energy bills under control. For companies with car fleets, home charging creates its own task: paying employees back accurately for the electricity they use at home.
KotiCharge makes this simple to manage. The platform handles billing for each user, pays back home charging costs and takes care of the day-to-day admin that would otherwise fall on a board or a finance team. It also decides when cars charge. It looks at live electricity prices, how much solar power is being produced and any battery storage on site, so cars charge when energy is cheapest.
For residents and companies, this means lower energy costs and less admin, without anyone having to watch electricity prices themselves. KotiCharge operates in 35 cities and at more than 600 locations across Finland.
Founder’s comment
“We appreciate Gorilla Capital for bringing not only capital, but also valuable expertise, advice, and guidance to help us build a sustainable and profitable company. It’s a great match with our vision from day one: building real revenue and real profitability rather than simply burning money to grow as fast as possible,” says Lam Le, founder and CEO of KotiCharge.
Gorilla’s view
“KotiCharge is a good example of what a small, determined team can build step by step. They have earned trust and built a growing business in Finland’s conservative housing market. Their persistence and lean execution stood out to us,” says Petri Lehmuskoski, Partner at Gorilla Capital.
