Gorilla Capital invests in Creative Database
Gorilla Capital Fund III has made its 47th investment in Creative Database — a creative marketplace built to solve a growing problem on both sides of the talent market.
Companies need creative talent faster than ever, yet hiring is often slow, risky, and inflexible. Traditional agencies add complexity and cost, while internal teams struggle to scale up quickly when needs change. At the same time, talented and professional freelancers find it increasingly difficult to be seen and secure consistent, high-quality work in a noisy digital marketplace.
Creative Database was built to address both sides of this equation. It matches businesses and in-house marketing teams with vetted, local creative talent that fits the task at hand — whether it’s a specific skill for a week or a full creative team for a month. Instead of lengthy and costly procurement processes, clients gain access to a curated network of thousands of creatives across Sweden.
“Freelancing is growing globally, and most companies want to work more with local freelancers, but don’t know where or how to find the right ones,” says John Petersson, CEO and Co-founder of Creative Database. “They often default to slow hiring or expensive agencies, losing the flexibility they were aiming for in the first place. Creative Database was built as a third option — a plug-and-play layer for companies and in-house teams, giving instant access to vetted local creatives exactly when they’re needed, without the cost, lock-in, or friction, while also giving creative talent a better way to find the right clients.”
“Procuring creative work can be challenging for companies, just as finding the right clients can be difficult for creatives,” says Petter Hattenbach, Partner at Gorilla Capital. “John and Tim deeply understand both sides of the market. Strong market insight combined with founders driven to solve a real problem is exactly what we look for.”
