Gorilla Capital invests in Tiedot
Gorilla Capital Fund III has made its 64th investment in Tiedot, a Finnish automotive retail data and software company building a modern operating system for car dealers.
Introducing Tiedot
Car dealers make pricing, buying and selling decisions every day, but the data behind those decisions — vehicle specifications and history, market prices and demand signals — is usually scattered across separate systems that don’t talk to each other. That gap between what dealers need to know and what they can actually see slows down decisions that should be straightforward.
Tiedot addresses this by bringing together fragmented vehicle and market data with the tools car dealers already use for daily trading, in one system. Instead of piecing information together from multiple sources, dealers get pricing data, market data and their core trading tools in a single place — making it faster to price a car accurately and act on buying or selling decisions.
The result is a faster and more data-driven way to buy, price and sell cars, integrated directly into dealers’ daily workflows.
Founded by Juho Koivurova, Eetu Pekki and Zacharias Hellberg, Tiedot has built a strong position in Finland quickly. Its customers range from independent car dealers to some of the largest players in the industry. The company has now started operating in Poland and is preparing to expand into further European markets, with the long-term goal of becoming a leading data and software platform for car retail in Europe.
Founder’s comment
“We’ve built a strong foundation in Finland and shown that there’s a clear need in car retail for better data and modern tools. The next step is to bring the same concept to larger markets in Europe. Our goal is to make Tiedot a central part of the infrastructure for car retail in Europe,” says Juho Koivurova, CEO & Co-founder, Tiedot.
Gorilla’s view
“At Gorilla we look for teams that combine deep domain understanding with the ability to learn directly from their customers and turn that learning into execution. What stood out in Tiedot is how the team built a strong position with car dealers in Finland — from independent dealers to some of the largest players in the industry — by solving a real, everyday problem with data that used to be scattered across separate systems. That kind of step-by-step building, grounded in real user behaviour, reflects the discipline and focus that creates resilient companies,” says Risto Rautakorpi, Partner at Gorilla Capital.
