Petter steps up as General Partner at Gorilla Capital

We are happy to share that Petter Hattenbach is stepping into a new role at Gorilla Capital as General Partner.

Petter has already been part of Gorilla as a Venture Partner, working closely with founders and contributing to our presence in the Nordics. Now, he will take a bigger role in building Gorilla going forward — with a particular focus on Sweden and Denmark.

Petter’s journey into startup investing started in 2018, with a simple but important principle:
the cap table should share a common view of the journey ahead.

Building a startup is hard. Misalignment between investors makes it even harder.
That thinking is very much aligned with how we see venture.

At Gorilla, we believe startups should be built on real customer insight — not assumptions, not hype. Capital is a tool, but only when used at the right time and in the right amount. Too much money too early increases risk instead of reducing it, and often leads to premature scaling.

The goal in the early stages is simple:
learn why customers buy, and build from there.
This is what we call the camel way — a step-by-step approach focused on resilience, capital efficiency, and real progress.

With Petter now stepping in as General Partner, we continue strengthening our presence on the ground in Sweden and expanding further into Denmark — working closely with founders who want to build real businesses, not just funding stories.
